Fly High! RDP: Sunday

Can’t is a word that I often said.

Can’t is a word that was stuck in my head.

Can’t was a cop-out,

A way to get by,

While letting life,

Pass me right by.

But what if I could,

Asks the engine inside.

What if I found,

I could no longer hide?

Then what would happen?

Would I look up at the sky?

Would I grab the opportunities

That were passing me by?

Would I fly like an eagle,

Or soar like a bird?

Or would I be afraid

They would think I’m absurd?

But if I’m like a bird

I belong in the sky.

Not stuck on the ground,

So eager to fly.

My wings are not broken,

They’re simply afraid,

But now I must try

For what I was made.

New Beginnings

This ought to be an interesting year. Why? Because we are in 2020…and that reminds me of hindsight being 20/20 vision. Maybe this time we’ll each get it right the first time. There’ll be no need look to the past to correct errors, because maybe this will be our lucky 20/20 not-much-in-hindsight but rather present year. And also, a little tip for 2020: make sure to write out 2020 in full your important documents/checks. It could turn ugly if the wrong person gets a hold of important documents and decides to add a 1 or a higher digit it could create a lot of trouble for you. With that, let’s raise a glass to 2020! Cheers and have a fantastic year! I can’t wait to see what it brings for all of us. New Beginnings

Daily Prompt: Disappear

What to say about the word disappear…at first I thought that the idea of the word disappear could be easily written about. Then I realized that what I wanted to say, maybe it wasn’t so healthy; or maybe…it just is…not healthy or unhealthy. So let’s have a go. When I think of disappearing I think of the obvious: a magic act. The item disappears. Simple as that. Err…well, not simple for the magician, I know. Magic is something that is very important, though…for me my connection to musical theatre is magical…it opens up my soul to worlds that I didn’t know could exist. It’s like there’s a whole part of me that doesn’t exist when I’m not singing/performing musicals, and when I do get to do what I love I become so engrossed in it that my angst, my worry, my outside concerns…they disappear. It’s moving and enthralling to me. There’s nothing else like it. It is so magical that I could even tell you the exact moment that I fell in love with what I do. I will never forget it, and I hope it never disappears…So…what memory do you love so much that you hope it never disappears? I hope you all have one, and I hope it brings a smile to your face when you read this!

Does Valentine’s Day Have You Like…Whaaaat? It’s Only Two Days Away????NOOOO!

Seriously. Where does the time go? I don’t know if you’re like me, but I found myself thinking the other day that I had yet to choose something or make something (and I definitely prefer to make something because it’s so personal and so much fun!) for my cute guy (who deserves it like nobody’s business) AND I WAS LEAVING ON FRIDAY (TODAY) TO GO SEE HIM SO I HAD BETTER FIGURE IT OUT BEFORE HE CAUGHT ME SNOOPING ON THE INTERNET STILL TRYING TO DO SO! I know, I know what you’re thinking…really? You left it to the last minute? Ummm…not really…Like many of you (I’m guessing) I was stumped about what special thing to do for him. You see, we don’t put value into buying expensive gifts for each other or going over the top on one particular day of the year. We’re loving to each other every day, but we figure that Valentine’s Day is still something to be acknowledged regardless. So really…it’s in the sweet things we do for each other that we find solace daily. But…I still like to do fun, cute things for him anyway to truly show my love for him. For those that have not yet figured out what it is they’re doing…or even forgotten that V-day is so close upon us (and they may need two day shipping)…check this out!
